This page provides legal and prevention-oriented guardrails for app use in Germany. It is not legal advice and serves as practical guidance based on publicly available legal texts.
1. Current legal framework in Germany (CanG / KCanG)
Possession limits under KCanG section 3
Current federal law allows up to 25 g in public and up to 50 g at your residence. Up to three flowering female plants are also permitted at your residence.
Consumption restrictions under KCanG section 5
No consumption in the immediate presence of minors and no consumption in or near schools, child and youth facilities, playgrounds, or public sports facilities. In pedestrian zones, additional restrictions apply between 7:00 and 20:00.
Distribution and advertising
Distribution to minors is prohibited and subject to criminal penalties. Cannabis advertising and sponsoring are also restricted (KCanG section 6).
2. Youth protection and misuse prevention
- The app is a calculation aid for adults, not a consumption guide for minors.
- Recipes, concentrations, or outputs must not be used to encourage or normalize use among adolescents.
- THC products should be stored child-safe and out of reach.
- For education and prevention, broader youth-protection goals under the German Youth Protection Act (JuSchG) also apply.
3. Practical responsible-use guidelines
Start low, wait for onset
With edible products, effects can be delayed. Dose carefully and avoid redosing too early.
Avoid mixing substances
Combining cannabis with alcohol or other psychoactive substances increases risk significantly.
Do not drive while impaired
If you are under the influence, do not drive. This applies even if you feel capable.
Do not use the app to bypass rules
Calculations are intended for transparency and harm reduction, not for maximizing potency or bypassing legal limits.
